Miami is home to a large gay community. Miami Beach has especially established itself
as a premier gay tourist destination. It offers gay and lesbian travelers ample
opportunities for recreation, nightlife, and culture.

 

GAY BEACHES

South Beach: 12th Street & Ocean Drive. This is mostly a hangout for men, however
lesbians, as well as straights camp out here too.

Haulover Park Beach: Collins & 108 Street, North Miami Beach, just 25 minutes from South
Beach. This nude beach starts about a mile north of the northernmost
parking lot of Haulover. This beach rests on a natural preserved area
and it is the only legal haven for nudists in Miami. This beach is
gay friendly.

Crandon Park: 4000 Crandon Boulevard, Key Biscayne. Gay visitors can bike, hike, or
just enjoy the beautiful beaches of Key Biscayne.

Matheson Hammock Beach: Old Cutler Drive, South of Kendall Drive.

GAY NIGHTCLUBS

Miami was ranked "Best City for Night Owls" by Cities To Go Guidebook in 2000. Miami is
definitely a place where things happen all 24 hours of the day. Miami, especially South
Beach, is very gay friendly and features numerous gay and lesbian bars & nightclubs.
