A snorkeling trip at the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is a delightful way to spend the day with someone. It is also a main Miami tourist attraction and should be in your list of things to do in Miami. It begins with an hour trip to mile marker 102.5, on Key Largo, the biggest of the Florida Keys. Boats begin departing from Grecian Rocks at 9:00 am and do so every 3 hours. For a total of about $35.00 you can enjoy a day in the warm, crystal-clear waters exploring the reefs five miles off the island. This Miami tourist attraction park also has its own aquarium exhibiting the park’s unique variety of marine life. John Pennekamp is the only national park undersea established to preserve the endangered coral reef which now is the only living coral reef in the United States. Other activities and things to do in Miami include scuba diving, tours on the glass bottom boats, camping, fishing, and boat rentals for a more private and intimate outing.
