According to the Miami Herald, the 278,547-square-foot Seville Hotel in Miami Beach located at 2901 Collins Avenue will undertake new renovations and reopen as the Edition Hotel.
Bill Marriott and Ian Schrager are just months away from opening their first hotel in Waikiki, Edition Hotels, and are already implementing plans for their much anticipated
hotel in Miami Beach.
John Wolf, a Marriott spokesman, said after major renovations the
beachfront hotel in Miami Beach which sits on three acres of property is expected to open in three years.
In recent years the Seville which was built in 1955, has tried unsuccessfully to make a comeback. In 2005, developers planned to turn it into a Ritz-Carlton condo and time share complex but rumor has it the Ritz-Carlton pulled out because of the bad credit market.
