BULLETIN D’INFORMATIONS >>
The Daytona Bike Week Festival is an international acclaimed Florida event. Every year, visitors from all over the United States and the world come to the mythic city of Daytona Beach to be part of this Florida event. The first bike week took place in Daytona Beach in January 24, 1937. The first event held featured a motorcycle race on the Beach and on the road.

The first winner of the Daytona Bike Week Festival was Ed Kretz who was riding an American built Indian Motorcycle. The event was suspended during World War II and re-started again in 1947. In 1960, the mythic race was moved to the Daytona International Speedway. Throughout the passing decades the event became more and more popular attracting more visitors every year. This Florida event used to be very informal and attracted mostly bad boy riders; consequently, local authorities were not thrilled by the yearly invasion. Relationship between riders and the local law enforcement authorities was bad on those days. Today, this event is monitored, and has become a peaceful event which attracts new breeds of professional riders. The Daytona Bike Week Festival lasts for 10 days in which there are hundreds of events for riders to enjoy. The crowd is very mixed attracting hard core riders as well as weekend riders. Generally, most of the shows being held take place on the streets. The Daytona Bike Week Festival is a time for bikers to show off their jewels to their fellow bikers.

Street fairs offer plenty of shopping opportunities from brand new motorcycles to tee shirts and glasses. “Gangs of riders” travel every year together from United States cities to their final destination, Daytona Beach. Harley Davidson is heavily represented during this Florida event.

This Florida event definitely requires a quick trip to Daytona from Miami; it is about a 3.5 hour drive. Daytona is also close to Orlando where a stop is a must, specifically for visitors traveling with their kids.
