Fairchild Tropical Garden is the largest tropical botanical garden (83 acres) in the continental United States. Opened in 1938, it was founded by Robert H. Montgomery, designed by William Lyman Phillips, and planted by the great plant explorer Dr. David Fairchild. The Garden's stonework was done by the Civilian Conservation Corps. |
