Celebrity Sightings in Miami: Andy Garcia, Nelly Furtado, Emilio and Gloria Estefan

 

On Tuesday, July 14th, Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and the team were at Ocean Drive magazine’s launch party of Suunto’s new Elementum watch collection at the Grove outdoor bar in the new W South Beach.

Dale Chapman Webb, CEO of The Protocol Centre and daughter of former Miami Herald publisher Alvah Chapman, debuted and iPhone/iPod Touch application called Etiquette Avenue. The new app helps better manners by addressing frequently violated professional protocol.

The week of July 6th, Andy Garcia was seen strolling along near Lincoln Road in Miami Beach with a group of friends. The 53-year-old actor wore a hat, sunglasses and loose white pants.

On July 9th, Spanish singer Buika performed at the Gusman Theater where famous friends such as Nelly Furtado, Emilio and Gloria Estefan, Alejandro Sanz and pianist Ivan “Melon” Lewis attended.

Former Miami Herald columnist Liz Balmaseda celebrated the release of her first novel, Sweet Mary, at the Eden Roc on July 8th, Wednesday night. The novel follows a South Florida woman who is falsely accused of being a cocaine queen. The party was hosted by Gloria and Emilio Estefan. Guests included singer Lissette Alvarez, actor Andy Garcia and Steven Bauer.

On Wednesday, July 8th, Halle Berry, boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, their 15-month old daughter Nahala Ariela and a male friend had an early dinner at 5:30PM at Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink. Nahala ate a beet and tomato salad and picked from Aubry’s chicken and mashed potatoes. Halle ordered grouper and the adults shared a $95 bottle of Faust Cabernet. Supposedly, Halle was driving around the Miami Design District for an hour waiting for the restaurant to open. Before eating, they browsed luxe furniture store, Poltrona Fau. It started raining hard and Aubry went to get the car while Berry and the baby stayed in the store.
