Art Miami has been schedule to coincide with Art Basel Miami Beach joining about a dozen other fairs that also take place in earl December. The leaders of Art Miami announced that the fair will take place at the same time that the Art Basel. The fair will occur this year on December 6th to 10th. The 17 year-old event used to happen in January. The show director, Ilana Vardy said that: that some participants asked for a change after weak sales this year at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Art Miami will also change locations in December. This year it will take place in a big tend located on the corner of North west second avenue and 22nd street in Miami Wynwood neighborhood. The event is different to the Art Basel Miami because is focused in a more conservative public. Art Miami features about 115 galleries and this year attracted 24,000 visitors.
