Public parking is available right around the corner at a Pay by the hour parking garage, or, parking at the convention center is always available for a flat fee. Valet parking is also available at the center.

2009 Offshore Powerboat Challenge Weekend, Sunny Isles Florida

The City of Sunny Isles Beach - Florida’s Riviera, is hosting the second annual “Offshore Powerboat Challenge Weekend,” when the Offshore Super Series returns to benefit Take Stock in Children. This is a great Miami event that helps the children in need. The weekend of June 11-14, 2009 will see offshore powerboat race teams and fans from all over the United States stream into Sunny Isles Beach to get ready for this action packed Miami event. The overwhelming success of last year’s powerboat event sets the stage for this year to be bigger and better than the inaugural Sunny Isles event.

The entire setting of the Sunny Isles Beach race makes it picture perfect for racers, families, and friends to enjoy. An amazing array of hotels, resorts, restaurants, beaches, and parks are being provided for everyone to enjoy and watch the races from. You can watch this amazing event for free from almost anywhere on the beach in Sunny Isles. There are a number of hotels to valet a car at or public parking lots to park and walk to the beach. Haulover Beach has a public parking lot and is located right next the inlet where the speedboats access the ocean from the marina so it promises a great close up view of the boats.

2009 No Barriers Festival, Miami Events

The purpose of the No Barriers Miami event is to promote innovative ideas, approaches, and assistive technologies which help people with disabilities push through their own personal barriers to live full and active lives. This is an amazing and rewarding Miami event for all who become involved. This Miami festival is trying to leed by example and motivate people with disabilities from all over the world to get involved in programs and events similar to this Miami event. Highlights of the No Barriers Festival include the latest breakthroughs in adaptive equipment and prosthetics; an equipment fair where state-of-the-art adaptive products will be displayed and demonstrated; and stimulating interactive outdoor clinics like rock climbing, kayaking, sailing, and scuba, where participants are able to put these technologies and ideas to use. This Miami Festival will also include music, art, film and cultural programs.

2009 Miami Goombay Festival, Miami Events

The Miami Goombay Festival is one of the largest Black heritage festivals in the U.S. and the only Miami event of its kind. Attend this Haitian event in Miami to enjoy colorful costumed junkanoo groups, and vendors selling a variety of arts, crafts and food.

The Miami/Bahamas Goombay Festival in Coconut Grove is a celebration of culture expression embracing the legacy of a Bahamian-rooted community known as Coconut Grove. The street festival transforms Grand Avenue into a journey across the ocean, creating a perfect harmony on a rich Caribbean culture of the Bahamas and the strong African-American vibes of Miami. Over the years, the festival has become a signature miami event including a historical luncheon for the pioneers, a children's corner, where kids read stories and make junkanoo costumes, a colorful parade of energetic, brightly costumed people gyrating and dancing to the rhythmic accompaniment of cowbells, drums, and whistles. Vendors prepare to share their authentic Bahamian and American cuisine in booths that align the streets.

2009 Fuerza Bruta Performance

Look up and experience Fuerza Bruta, a unique Miami event! This Miami event is a non-stop collision of dynamic music, jaw-dropping acrobatics, visceral emotion, and kinetic aerial imagery that resembles nothing less than a mash up between aerial theater and a late-night dance party! From the creators of the smash-hit De La Guarda, Fuerza Bruta will transform the Lynn Wolfson Stage into an alternate universe with flying dancers, pumping beats, engaging dream sequences and a multidimensional swimming pool above the heads of the audience. The visuals are spectacular and there has never been any other events in Miami like it! The effects are stunning! This incredible Miami event will be performed at the Ziff Ballet Opera House.

2009 Fete de la Musique

The French Consulate in Miami throws a free party, Fête de la Musique, at the Gusman Theatre, celebrating the beginning of summer and showcasing new trends in traditional and world music. This Miami event should be taken advantage of because it is not only a great Miami event, but, it is like none of the other events in miami, especially free miami events.

Born in Paris in 1982, Fête de la Musique is now a major event in more than 100 countries throughout five continents. Celebrated on the first day of summer, the longest day of the year, the festival has taken root throughout Europe, in Miami, San Francisco, New York, Manila, across Brazil and Colombia, and has become a national festival in many African countries.

A variety of international food and wine is on offer throughout the day.

2009 American Black Film Festival, Miami Events

The American Black Film Festival is a four-day Miami event, retreat and international film market. Founded in 1997, this Miami festival is dedicated to strengthening the black filmmaking community through resource sharing, education, artistic collaboration and career development. The ABFF was born out of the need to develop distribution opportunities for independent black films and promote cultural festivals and diversity within the motion picture industry. Its  unique dual audience of industry professionals and film enthusiests provides a diverse and loyal base of support unmatched by any Miami event or similar event of its kind. This is the largest Black event of its kind and the only Miami event of its kind.

Events and film viewings will be held at the Colony Theatre, The Ritz- Carlton, Karu & Y, Miami Beach Cinematheque .

2009 Champion Cup Series- Motorcycle
