Bicentennial Park, located in downtown Miami, was the venue of The Miami Bang Music Festival. The music started at 11am and did not stop until midnight, accommodating the massive list of performers. One of the highlights was the return of Duran Duran's original line up, after having broken up a while back. The group performed their greatest hits as well as some new material from their "astronaut" album. The album was described as a return to their musical roots, roots that date all the way back to 1979 in England.

Legendary bands were not all the Miami Bang Music Festival had to offer. Today's up and new comers were given the chance to display their talents as well. Modest Mouse, one of today's fastest rising alternative bands, performed at the event. Modest Mouse quickly built a good reputation and following upon the release of it is CD and their profile only continues to grow. Recently, Modest Mouse has been featured in magazines such as Rolling Stone and Spin.
Hip Hop star Gnarls Barkley was another relatively new act on the last year's festival. Feared by some, admired by others, Barkley is regularly found near the top of today's music charts. Other acts participating last year were Daft Punk, Roger Sanchez, Atomic Tangerine, Second Sun Live, and Christopher Lawrence.
