When you come to Miami, you might need to rent a car to move freely around the city. If you decide to stay on Miami Beach, parking could be a hassle if you are not aware of the parking system of the City of Miami Beach. Most of the hotels in South Beach and surrounding areas have their own parking garages, or provide spots in Miami Beach parking public garages. If you decide to go with a vacation rental apartment, you might get your own parking spot at the staying residence, or parking permits can be provided to you in order to allow you to park in the area. When you rent a vacation home, you will not be experiencing this kind of matter because in must cases Miami vacation homes have their own private parking spaces.

Here we provide some useful information regarding parking spaces, garages, and lots in the South Beach area as well of rates and hours of operation.

Miami Beach Parking Meters

The City of Miami Beach maintains approximately 10,000 parking meters. The current parking meter rates are from $.50 per hour or $1.00 per hour. Meter rates and time limits are based on the demographics of each area, with consideration given to the level of parking activity and market rates for off-street parking in the geographic area. For example, parking in high-density commercial areas such as South Beach's Ocean Drive, cost more than the outlying neighborhoods of Middle and North Beaches. Some meters accept payment with credit cards, but must of them require coins.
