With most popular vacation destinations like Miami, advertises try to appeal to tourists showing them plenty of ways to over spend. Unfortunately tourists often learn too late that they have wasted vacation money on things that wdidn't really enhance their vacation experience. Here are some tips to help you budget while traveling in Miami including where to find Miami Beach accommodations for the best price:

 

When to Go:

Avoid peak times such as Christmas and spring break, when Miami restaurants, causeways and Miami attractions are packed with tourists. The middle of winter and late spring are very busy and prices are often inflated.

 

Getting Here:
There are three major airports in South Florida and it is usually cheaper to fly into an airport other that Miami (MIA). Tickets are cheaper if you do not use a major airport such as MIA.  Check the prices at Fort Lauderdale (FLL) or even Palm Beach County (PBI) which are within 60 miles of Miami.

 

Where to Eat:
Avoid the more trendy Miami Beach restaurants and look for daily "Early Bird Specials" that you can find on Eats.com and the Miami New Times Magazine. The prices for your meals will be much cheaper but you will have to eat very early dinners.



Miami Beach Accommodations:
Miami Beach has many beautiful historical Art Deco buildings. Some have been restored with luxury amenities and made in to Miami Beach vacation rentals and Miami vacation villas. This Miami Beach accommodations are often privately owned therefore price negotiable.



Miami Attractions:
Admission fees for park and other Miami attractions can be exuberant! Here are two great attractions that are affordable and often forgot about:  The Fairchild Tropic Botanical Garden in Coral Gables, one of the highest rated gardens in the world will cost less than $20 per person. For less than $12 there is Vizcaya Museum and Gardens which is an Italian villa built by James Deering and a historical landmark in Miami.
