The Miami Sport and Fitness festival is a much-anticipated event. At least 50,000 attended the last one. There were more then enough events to keep the crowd happy. Teams representing US, Brazil, Germany and more competed to see who is the most fit!

One of these events was the Footvolley Tournament. This relatively new sport, which is volleyball with a twist, is quickly growing in popularity. The twist is, players are not allowed to use their hands. To score, they have to use their head, feet and chest, making for a more challenging match. Another event is the 3rd Fitness Open, a test of cardiovascular fitness. Each participant must go 7 minutes each on a treadmill and a stationary bike. Past winners have received trips to the Festival del Fitness, where they had the chance to compete for a prize package valued at $120,000. Another draw of the Miami Sport and Fitness Festival is the Indoor Cycling Village. Participants where able to work out on Stationary bikes outdoors, while music played to keep them going.

Stage One was another great part of the Festival. Featuring fitness entertainment, it also gave Master's classes every hour each day of the festival. They also had an Aerobic Fiesta, led by some of the best instructors in the business and featuring such styles as Step, Salsa, Hip-Hop and more. The Martial Arts village gave people the chance to show off their skills in kickboxing, boxing, and other martial arts disciplines. If water sports are more your style, there was a Water Fit Extravaganza. Through various challenges, contestants were able to test their swimming abilities.

If all that was not enough, there were arm wrestling tournaments as well as a Battle of the Biceps and the Muscle Beach Gym. For the duration of the Festival, organizers re-created the feel of the Venice Beach weightlifting pen to give participants the chance to see who was the next Arnold.

By far, one of the most challenging aspects of the Festival was the C.S.A challange. This test of cardiovascular health, strength and agility had three parts. Part 1 found contestants riding stationary bikes for a mile with resistance. The second part required them to load sleds with weighted sandbags and then pull them for 50 yards. Finally, contestants had to prove their agility by going through a slalom course, do 50 revolutions with a jumprope and score 6 basketball points.

Finally, for the kids, there was Panatta's Kid's Corner. This provided kids with Chuck E Cheese style games that were sure to amuse. If your family is looking for challenging and fun things to do in Miami, do not miss the 2007 Miami Sports and Fitness Festival!
