Summer is just around the corner, and with it, swimsuit season. What better time to preview next year's hot new swimsuit and beachwear designs? For several days in July 2007, the City of Miami will play host to the Sunglass Hut Swim Shows. This exclusive, invitation-only event is being organized by IMG Fashion, the force behind most of the Fashion Week events held around the world. Some of these events include Olympus Fashion Week in New York, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles, Fashion Fringe in London and Milan Fashion Week.

With this kind of track record and its high profile, it is no wonder IMG Fashion is organizing the event once again. Sunglass Hut Swim Shows, sponsored by the Sunglass Hut, will give buyers, retailers and members of the media and fashion industry the opportunity to see and obtain the latest styles in swim wear and beachwear. Hot celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Tara Reid, Paris Hilton and Janet Jackson have attended the different shows alongside designers and their friends, bringing even more attention to this show each year.

Even though fashion shows are a great opportunity to star gaze, the real stars here are the designers. Sunglass Hut Swim Shows feature some of the best in the fashion industry. Designers such as Ank, Parke and Ronen, Lycra (the event's sponsor), Becca, Rosa Cha, ShayTodd and more are among those who have displayed their collections here. Each designer featured at the show gets a special show time at various venues to do so. Past venues have included The Beachway, Cabaña Grande, and Oasis. Each year, the whole thing gets off to a festive start with the Kick-off Party at the Raleigh 8, giving everyone involved a chance to talk, relax and let loose before the shows started. It is also a great opportunity to see and be seen. Each of the show’s venues were located in the Raleigh Hotel located at 1775 Collins Avenue, except for the Swimwear Association of Florida’s show. That took place at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Plans for this year's show have not been released yet, but keep checking their website www.sunglasshutswimshowsmiami.com for details as they are made available. You can also subscribe to their e-mail list to get that information sent directly to your inbox! They are currently looking for volunteers to help put together the 2007 show as well as sponsors.

The Sunglass Hut Swim Show has been sponsored by Continental Airlines, T-Mobile Sidekick 3, apparelnews.net, The Swim Journal, Peroni Italy, Bawls Guarana drinks, The Raleigh Hotel, Miami Living Magazine, Gran Centenario Tequila, Nikki Style, and LRM magazine. It is also supported by the Greater Miami Convention Bureau.
