Miami Carnival is one of the most entertaining events in Miami. Every year, people come from all over to participate in the talent competitions, see live bands and much more. Last year, the Caribbean Music Festival was combined with Miami Carnival to make an even bigger event. Due to the success of last year's event, Miami Carnival 2007 promises to be even better.

The 2006 Miami Carnival got a nice start when the opening events were held at the end of July. The carnival ended up running through the end of October. The opening event was held on Haulover Beach at "Solo on the Bay". DJs from all over the state were on hand to provide the hottest new music. Besides, there was a great selection of food provided by Anna's catering.

A new addition to the carnival was the Caribbean Music Festival. The 8th annual event featured a parade, over 25 diverse bands, and native food. One of the mainstays, however, was the Miss Miami Carnival pageant. Held at the Lou Rawls Center for the Performing Arts, it was the chance for Miami's women to show off their talents to the large audience.

Another great feature of this Florida festival was the parties. Held at various locations throughout Miami, the parties were lively Miami events featuring great music and food.

There was plenty to keep the kids in your family happy, too! The Kiddies Carnival, held at Hialeah Park, was a lively event that children of all ages could enjoy. Featuring music, costumes, food and crafts, there was plenty to do. The kids also got the chance to participate in talent contests along with the adults. In addition, bands and individuals got the chance to display their talents for cash prizes and trophies. Winners included Gathering, MAC International, DJ Dorenzo, Krystal Crichlow, Inskip Morris.
