There are so many things to do in Miami. From rocking music Florida festivals and hot Miami night clubs to colorful and action packed Miami carnivals, there is plenty for people looking for a wild and crazy time. But there is also another side to Miami, a softer and more “cultured” side. This side of Florida features several Miami events where you can sit back and enjoy a quiet evening and still be entertained. These Miami events offer some relaxation and a break the loud, fast-paced activities.

For these times, the city of Miami offers you International Ballet Festival of Miami. This Florida festival is considered one the most successful festivals of its kind. It features dancers from some of the greatest ballet companies in the world doing what they do best. During its 11 years here in the Sunshine State, it has managed to secure its place as one of the most important parts of Miami’s cultural scene.

Each year, over 10,000 people come to enjoy a night of quality entertainment through both live performances and films. It also features workshops and master classes. The Master Classes may only be open to the performers, but students of dance are welcome to come and observe. It is sure to be an inspirational and educational experience for them. Anyone who has dreams of becoming a dancer can not only enjoy the show, but benefit from all you can learn here. During the two weeks the Florida festival is in Miami, it also displays some great art inspired by dance.

For the patrons of the arts among you, the International Ballet Festival of Miami has a variety of sponsorship opportunities available to make sure the Ballet will be coming here for years to come. For those who chose to sponsor the ballet, they will get their advertisement featured in a wide variety of promotional materials as well as a tax deduction and the knowledge they are helping to keep the arts alive. Individuals can also contribute to the cause for varying fees. Some of the perks include tickets, DVDs of the festival and the chance to see their names featured in the program.

One of the highlights for many at the Florida festival is the awarding of the lifetime achievement award called “A Life for Dance”. Each winner has been chosen for not only their talent, but their contributions to the Dance community. Some of the past winners are Ballet Master and Choreographer Jose Pares, Prima Ballerina Carla Fracci, Artistic Director of the Miami Ballet Edward Villella and Dancer Fernando Bujones.

DVDs of past Miami events are available at the website, so if you want to get a taste of what you can expect to see in person when the International Ballet Festival of Miami comes back, check out the website. It is address is www.miamihispanicballet.com.
