American Streamlined Design: The World of Tomorrow is a Miami event exhibit organized by The Liliane and David M. Stewart Program for Modern Design, Montreal, that concentrates on the period when streamlined designed first developed in the 1930s and 1940s. The Miami event, starting October 23rd 2008 and running through May 17th, 2009, features 180 examples of furniture, ceramics, metalwork, plastics, graphic design and archival design books as well as examples of modern streamlined design.
American Streamlined Design: The World of Tomorrow is the most thorough study ever done on the subject. The Miami event offers a new evaluation of the aesthetic of streamlined design. The American Streamlined Design: The World of Tomorrow will be held at FIU’s Wolfsonian Museum.
