Miami Beach Accommodations - Miami Lodging

The city may be full of Miami vacation homes and condos but where to rent Miami if you don’t have a car?  For accommondations in West Miami and in North Miami Beach or further East a rental car or taxi is a need, but the story is different in South Beach. It’s simple for vacationers in Miami Beach accommodations to wherever they are going. In fact if you are staying in one of the many Miami Beach accommodations and rent a car you will miss all the wonderful stores, art galleries, street vendors and markets if you don’t stroll along Collins Avenue, Ocean Drive and Washington Avenue. There a street designed just for walking, Lincoln Road, which has been transformed into an outdoor mall. Anyone staying in Miami Beach accommondations is a “hop, skip and a jump” away from many Miami restaurants, Miami night clubs, stores and movie theaters within its ten block span.

Taxis are on almost every corner in South Beach, 23rd Street and below, but we suggest the South Beach Local bus for vacationers in Miami Beach accommondations. Its cheaper and a great way to see the city.

South Beach Local bus runs every 15 to 20 minutes and stops on any block on its route with the ring of the bell cord. The best thing about the South Beach Local bus, it’s only a quarter (0.25) to ride!

South Beach Local bus runs Monday through Saturday between 7:45 am and 1:00 am. Sunday service begins at 10:00 am and stops at 1:00 am.  The fare is $0.25, which is considerably less than regular Miami-Dade Metrobus service at $1.50.

If you are vacationing in one of the great Miami Beach accomodations and would like a complete map of the route the South Beach Local takes, go here: South Beach Local bus route map.
