Arts festivals make up many of the Miami events held each year. Held at the University of Miami campus, Beaux Arts Festival is not just a place to see art. It also benefits the community. Funds raised at the Florida festival allow field trips to museums as well as adding to the Lowe Art Museums collection. It also allows for expansion projects. For over 50 years, this juried art show has been bringing a touch of culture to the roster of Florida festivals by featuring over 200 artists from all over the country. The 2008 event will be held on January 19th and 20th from 10AM to 5PM, making it a great place to spend a whole day. There is plenty of variety available here, with 11 mediums including ceramics, jewelry and oils being represented. In addition to this, guests can experience other cultures through music and good food. Guests can also hope to catch a glimpse of the future of art, as different schools will be displaying works by their students. That is not all they are doing for the future of art. Budding Picassos can visit the art park where there will create their own masterpieces. The park is open to kids’ ages 5 through 12 and gives parents the chance to browse the festival in peace.
