If you have explored the other pages of Miami-Info.com looking for some great Florida festivals, you have probably noticed South Florida loves movies. From the African-American Film Festival to the Hispanic Film Festival, there is much for a film lover to enjoy. Add one more to that list: the Miami Short Film Festival. The Miami event will celebrate its 7th year in 2008. Scheduled for November, the Miami short film festival is a great place to see some up-and-coming talent. Last year’s winner, “Aquarium” became an official selection of the famous Sundance Film Festival. The film is about a 25-year-old boy who begins breeding Aquarium fish. The Florida Festival will feature International film makers, as well as some from our own backyard. Guests who attend in 2008 will get to see documentaries, experimental films and other categories. Budding Speilbergs will also get the chance to network with others in the industry. Entrants will get to compete for prize money to help fund their next project. The Miami event will take place at various venues throughout the city, one being the Miami Science Museum, and is an affordable way to spend the day.
