“Down Argentine Way: Deco. Vino. Tango” is the theme for this year’s Miami Art Deco Weekend as it explores life in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the 1930s when the art movement became popular. The 32nd annual Art Deco Weekend 2009 invites you to discover and enjoy a weekend under the perfect Miami weather surrounded by the unique style of South Beach. As one of the main Miami events held yearly, the Art Deco Weekend attracts many tourists and locals to the world-famous Ocean Drive. This anticipated Miami event offers tours, lectures, films, exhibits, music, dance, street theater, parades, and food. Here, you will also have the opportunity to buy antique pieces of art as well as pieces sold at auctions and restored classics. After a long day of collecting and learning, guests can cut loose at some of the hottest night time parties. These parties feature R&B, reggae and more to satisfy almost any musical taste. No South Florida event can be complete without a party! For more information about this popular Miami event, visit www.mdpl.org/ADW/2009/.
