Lovers of good food and fine wine have something to look forward to in 2008: The Food Network South Beach Food and Wine Festival. One of the most popular Florida festivals, it features several TV personalities. The event is getting a head start with a special auction through the website (www.sobewineandfoodfest.com.) that runs from November 30th until the 14th of December, 2007. Proceeds will benefit FIU’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. The Florida Festival will begin with a Prelude Dinner on the 20th at 7:30 PM. Friday the 22nd; spend some time with famous chef Emril as he hosts Emril's Sugar Shack by the pool of the Raleigh Hotel. The event will also feature live music. For the kids among you, there is the Kellogg's Kidz Kitchen on February 23rd. The 2 hour event begins at 10:30 AM and costs $35.00. Chef Giada De Laurentiiis, a Food Network host, will be there to teach kids some great and simple dishes the whole family can enjoy. Fans of Rachael Ray will enjoy the Amstel Light Burger Bash she hosts on the 21st. Like many events in Miami, it will be held outside on the beach.
