South Beach condos and Miami condos for sale
Call MLR Realty at: 1-305- 673-3303 to get a consultation with a Miami realtor specialized in South Beach and Miami real estate.
Situated in the southern tip of the Island of Miami Beach, South Beach is home to the historic Art Deco District. The first buildings were erected in the 20’s, followed by buildings completed in the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Each of these decades produced buildings with typical art deco styles.
Both the Miami real estate market and Miami Beach real estate market in the South Beach district flourished with hundreds of buildings. Many of the Miami buildings have been substantially renovated, with each apartment unit sold individually as part of a Miami condo conversion. Since the year 2000 the average price on Ocean Drive is $433 per square foot. In spite of the South Beach old buildings and history, the Miami real estate market in the area is very attractive for buyers and developers because the South Beach is known for its amazing beaches and nightlife, which has been considered one of the most exciting in the whole world. Also, most of the old Miami real estate properties in the area have experienced complete renovations as is the case of most South Beach historic hotels, always respecting the art deco style of the area.
The South Beach district was saved from the assault of developers and was kept intact by the effort of non profit organizations, mainly by the Miami preservation league and its founder Barbara Capitman. The city of Miami Beach is also the entity that enforces the respect of Miami’s history by forcing owners to rehab or renovate while respecting the historical architecture of the buildings.
