FLO TV Personal Television - Miami Gadget of the Week

So, we’ve all heard of portable televisions, shows you can play on your iPod or a television service you can add to your mobile phone service. Live TV on the go is usually received by cell phone users from AT&T or Verizon Wireless who pay an additional $15 on top of your phone bill for the service.

Now, Qualcomm Inc, best known for chips, is introducing FLO TV Personal Television, a pocket-size portable device made strictly for watching TV on the go. The Miami Gadget of the Week has a touch-screen display that is 3.5 inches diagonally and weighs slightly over 5 ounces. FLO TV Personal Television is expected to be offered by retailers by the holiday season at $249.99.

The Miami Gadget of the Week offers its own programming service and packages are expected to be range from $5 to $15 per month.

The competing MobiTV has been offering TV on the go via cell phones. Market research analyst John Fletcher estimates that MobiTV will have up to seven million subscribers this year. Meanwhile, he predicts that the Miami Gadget of the Week, FLO TV Personal Television, will have about 350,000 users.amazon.com
