The SunPass in South Florida is an innovative Prepaid Toll Program that can be used on most Florida toll roads.

South Florida SunPass and Miami SunPass customers attach a small transponder device to their car windshield which transmits a radio signal when passing through a SunPass toll lane.

When the signal is transmitted, the toll amount is automatically deducted from your prepaid SunPass account. Typically, SunPass users pay 25 cents less than cash customers at tolls. Miami SunPass transponders can be purchased at Publix or CVS for as little as $4.99.

If you are in South Florida and you do not have a SunPass pre-paid device, avoid SunPass lanes when approching a Toll station since $100 fines apply.
