The 2007 Columbus Day Regatta Party
This event started in 1952 when locals decided to launch this event to honor the famous navigator Christopher Columbus. A bronze sculpture was commissioned to celebrate this event. In 1954 the first Regatta was held regrouping 24 boats, this number increased to thousands vessels nowadays. It is a very popular Miami event, locals as well as visitors love it.
If you are coming to Miami for the event, you must know that A Miami yacht can be chatered for the week end, or a Miami Boat can be rented on a daily basis. Visitors may also decide to stay in a Miami hotel or a Miami vacation rental property.

The Biltmore International Food & Wine Weekend
After a highly successful weekend in 2006, The Biltmore International Food & Wine Weekend will once again hit the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. The annual event, featuring numerous activities, serves as a fund-raiser as well as a festival. Every year, the Florida festival offers nothing but the best in wine, food, and entertainment to its guests.

The Miami Beach Antique Jewelry and Watch Show
The show is billed as the largest exhibit of antique jewelry in the Southeast, and features pieces from an impressive variety of dealers. 21st Century Jewels, AIK Watches, Alice Glenn Ltd., American Design Workshop, Anshumita Jewels and Antique Gems: The Estate Company is among the venders who will be displaying gorgeous antiques at the show. Tickets to attend the Florida festival are $12 and cover all three days, so all visitors can come and go as they please. The show opens at 11 AM each day and closes at 7 PM.

Miami Carnival

The Miami Carnival is taking place at the Bicentennial Park in Downtown for its 21st anniversary. Since 1984, the Miami Carnival has brought to Miami events a spectacular and eventful weekend which now spread to Broward County.

This is a free event for the family to enjoy with many parades, concerts, band contest, fireworks, food, and fun activities.

Oktoberfest Miami 2007

The annual Oktoberfest Miami will be taking place once again this year. The famous and traditional German celebration will be hosted by the German American Club of Greater Miami. This is an open festival which takes places two weekends of October: October 19-21 and 26-28.

Fridays (10/19 and 26): 6pm to 12 am (midnight)

Saturdays(10/20 and 27):12pm (noon) to 12am midnight)

Sundays (10/21 and 28):12pm (noon) to 10pm

The festival will take place inside the clubhouse and outside under a huge tent where there will be traditional and authentic German food, beer, and wine. Performances by folk music groups will take place every hour and special appearances by other German bands will fill the environment with German culture.

Youth of ages 12 to 20 pays $1.00 and adults pay $10. Children 12 and under go in free of charge.

This is a great cultural Miami event for you and your family to enjoy.

The International Caribbean Music Festival

The International Caribbean Music Festival is one of the main Miami events coming to town this October. It originally began in 1997 with the Caribbean Reggae Fest featuring mainly music from Jamaica. Now, the festival has performances of music from all over. This year, the best Caribbean artists will be taking the stage such as Calle 13 and Wisin and Yandel among many others.

Mana in Miami

The best Spanish rock band is back for a second time this year. After a successful tour of their album, Amar es combatir, the Mexican celebrities will be performing once again in the American Airlines Arena on October 12th. This is the second time this year Mana will be in Miami and it is still a very awaited Miami event.

The Florida Sportsman Fishing & Boat Show will be taking place at the Fair Expo Center on October 13th and 14th. For its 14th annual year, the Florida Sportsman Magazine will host this Miami event. They promise this year will be bigger and better than before with its popular indoor tacle sale.

Admission: $8 for 12+ (children 12 and under get in free)

Daytona Beach Bike Week

The Daytona Bike week is an international acclaimed event. Visitors from all over the US and the world are flocking to the mythic city of Daytona Beach to be part of this event.

The bike event lasts for 10 days in which there are hundreds of events for riders to enjoy. The crowd is very mixed attracting hard core riders as well as weekend riders. The shows being held take place in the streets. Daytona week is a time for bikers to exhibiting their jewels to their fellow bikers.

Oh Seuss! Off to Great Places Traveling Exhibit (June 2007 -April 2008)

The Oh Seuss! Off to Great Places Traveling Exhibit is running from June 2007 to April 2008 at the Miami Children's Museum. This exhibit is a compiled collection of Theodor Seuss Geisel's works. Over 25 areas are full of activities for children to play and learn. These activites encourage humor and critical thinking & learning. Once admitted to the Miami Children's Museum, the exhibit is free.

Museum admission: $10 for adults & children.

Maroon 5 live in Miami

Maroon 5 is going to perform live in the Blank Atlantic Center in Miami. The concert will take place on October 20th at 8 PM.

Tickets will be available at ticketmaster.com but if you are a true fan you can buy the tickets before regular people starting at July 19th; however, you need to have a Maroon 5's fan club membership to get these tickets.
