The Israeli consulate is celebrating Tel Aviv’s centennial with events in Miami. A little over 100 years ago, about 40 people arrived in Tel Aviv. The group took a picture of themselves right on the outskirts of Jaffa, marking the beginning of the city. Also known for its parties, bars, clubs and beaches, Miami is very similar to Tel Aviv and is a perfect place to celebrate its centennial. The Israel consulate kicked off the Tel Aviv anniversary festivities and events in Miami with a pool party at Catalina Hotel Miami the on August 23rd.
Hundreds of partygoers attended the celebration last week at the Catalina Hotel Miami where they raised shot glasses in honor of an accomplishment made a century ago. At the Catalina Hotel Miami pool party, guests enjoyed a drum show, raffle, music, hookahs and Israeli food and wine. In part, the Israeli consulate intends to use this celebration to show Miami that Tel Aviv is a fun place to be. The Israeli consulate is planning several festivities and events in Miami that will run well into next year.
Upcoming events in Miami include a street celebration in October and concerts at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in October.
