The Miami City Ballet will be making various appearances during January at the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts. The Miami City Ballet performs at some of the main Miami events which attract many tourists who enjoy the art of dance. From January 11th through the 13th 2008 The Miami City Ballet will be performing to Maurice Ravel’s music’s inspiration of La Valse (Balanchine) where 34 dancers gracefully swirl around to the rhythm of his melodious sounds. The dance choreographed by Twyla Tharp is an inspiration of the different emotions resulting from the Great War.
“Aurora’s Wedding” from The Sleeping Beauty is a fairy tale where Princess Aurora marries the prince charming who awakens her from her deep 100-year sleep. The choreography by Petipa has guest appearances by Little Red Riding Hood, Puss in Boots, and Cinderella.
