Municipal code of Miami Beach: Use for single family homes in Miami Beach
 
In 2008, renting single family homes in Miami Beach for less than 6 months was no longer allowed. The main uses allowed in the RS-1, RS-2, RS-3, RS-4 single-family residential districts are single-family detached homes.

It is prohibited to use single-family homes for commercial purposes. Single-family homes are restricted to residential use only, with very few exceptions.

The purpose behind these regulations is for the pleasure of neighbors.
