All you dog lovers out there have a Miami event coming in 2008 that is perfect for you and your four-legged friend: The South Beach Dachshund Winter Festival. This event is a great way to spend time with your furry babies while enjoying the beautiful weather South Florida has to offer.

The Florida festival will open for one day, January 26th, starting at noon. It takes place in the park between 11th and 12th streets on Ocean Drive. This South Beach Dachshund Winter festival is a large event with over 800 “weenie dogs” as they are called taking part each year. You do not have to have a small dog to participate though. Larger dogs at the event are named honorary Dachshunds for the day.

Your dog will love getting the chance to meet other animals in a fun and unique setting. There will be fortune telling, a fun house with giant squirrels and much more. You can even really pamper your pet and get them a massage. This free Miami event also features raffles that will benefit rescue organizations dedicated to finding good homes for animals. For those who do not know, this is a perfect event as the Dachshund is the official dog of South Beach.
