US Passport Requirements -Miami Tourism
Since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the government has implemented new US passport requirements for travel entry into the United States. These new US passport requirements include additional applicant forms as well as longer processing times.
Visa applicants for travel entry into the US are now required to be interviewed by a consuling officer that will also collect two finger prints of the index finger. Assessing the security risk presented by the applicant, the officer must believe that the applicant intends to honor the terms of the visa by returning home.
New US passport requirements for Tourist and Business Visas - All male nonimmigrant tourist and business applicants between the ages of 16-45, must now complete a supplemental application, regardless of nationality or other factors for entry into the United States.
New US passport requirements for Student and Exchange Visas – In addition to the above, all student and exchange visitor applicants must also get an authorization form their sponsoring institution in the U.S.
New US passport requirements - Registration -All foreign visitors who enter and leave the US each year are registered by the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS). NSEERS is required for men 16 or older who are citizens of countries determined by the Attorney General to represent a potential national security threat. It is not based on ethnicity or religion.
