Posted on Friday, 10.23.2009 There has been a lot of recent talk about the different parts of Miami that will be forced to obey the new laws regarding vacation rentals. With the exception of individuals who were already renting out vacation rentals and were therefore “grandfathered” in, many of these municipalities are prohibiting short term rentals rented for less than six months. Some of the municipalities do not even make exceptions for those who were “grandfathered” in.
The municipalities that do allow Miami vacation rentals are:
- Parts of the City of Miami
- Coral Gables
- Key Biscayne
Municipalities with exceptions for “grandfathered” rights:
- North Miami
- North Miami Beach
Municipalities where Miami vacation rentals are not allowed:
- Miami Beach (South Beach included)
- Surfside
- Bay Harbor
- Bal Harbour
