Art Miami, Miami eventOne of the most important Miami events in December is Art Miami. The event features some wonderful work that any art collector, whether a novice or an old pro, will not want to miss. Great artists from 17 different countries show up each year, bringing more international flavor to a city that is already a cultural melting pot. Art Miami has been going strong for two decades now and shows no signs of stopping any time soon. With over 100 galleries on display, there is much to see here. Art Miami will be featuring a large showing of contemporary Chinese art, a refined presentation of modern and contemporary Latin American work, and prime examples of today’s most important contemporary photography – all intertwined with superb examples of modern master works of the 20th century.

2008 Art Basel Miami Beach2008 Art Basel Miami - Miami Events 2008 Art Basel Miami is one of Miami's most anticipated events. International contemporary art show and American sister event of Art Basel in Switzerland, recognized as the most important annual art show of its kind worldwide. The show will showcase art from more than 160 galleries from the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. In addition to Miami Art Basel itself, there will be many ancillary events at art facilities and other public venues around the community. New Year’s Eve 2008, Miami eventNew Year’s Eve 2008 promises to be a great Miami event. The City of Miami offers a great selection of events during New Year’s Eve 2008. One of the biggest is the Bayfront Park which offers a big concert and firework spectacle with a giant Orange dropping at midnight to mark the New Year. There are plenty of other things to do in Miami, though, including amazing parties in the best Miami night clubs such as Touch and The Fifth.

Oh Seuss! Off to Great Places Traveling Exhibit (June 2007 -April 2008)The Oh Seuss! Off to Great Places Traveling Exhibit is running from June 2007 to April 2008 at the Miami Children's Museum. This exhibit is a compiled collection of Theodor Seuss Geisel's works. Over 25 areas are full of activities for children to play and learn. These activites encourage humor and critical thinking & learning. Once admitted to the Miami Children's Museum, the exhibit is free. Museum admission: $10 for adults & children.
