American Streamlined Design: The World of TomorrowAmerican Streamlined Design: The World of Tomorrow is a Miami event exhibit that concentrates on the period when streamlined design first developed in the 1930s and 1940s. 2008 Miami King Mango StrutOn Sunday, December 28th, the Miami King Mango Strut street parade will be taking over Downtown Coconut Grove. Starting at 2PM, this free annual event welcomes the New Year. The parade goes through Commodore Plaza, Main Highway and Grand Avenue. Creative, wacky people come out to Miami King Mango Strut and seize the opportunity to make fun of anything. Most of the parade features satirical events that have occurred within the year. 2008 Winterfest Boat Parade Fort LauderdaleOn Saturday, December 13th the Seminole Hardrock Winterfest Boat Parade in Fort Lauderdale will fill the night with brightly decorated yachts. Thousands of illuminated boats light up the sky. The Fort Lauderdale event starts at 6:30 and starts in Downtown Fort Lauderdale on the New River and ends at Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach. The Winterfest Boat Parade was named one of the “Top 20 Parades in the World,” by USA Today. Other Winterfest activities include decorating the Intracoastal Waterway in the Intracoastal Decorating Extravaganza. This year, the Fort Lauderdale event headquarters will be the Riverside Hotel. The headquarters are determined by considering a place where parade judges, film crews and VIPs may be comfortably accommodated.
