You can be pretty sure that local authorities will very strictly enforce their decision to ban
short term rentals in Miami Beach. Code enforcement monitors the internet, patrols the streets and responds to neighbor’s complaints. Neighbors of vacation rental properties have been very vocal and forthcoming against short term rentals in Miami. Therefore, you can expect that there is no hesitation to call local authorities to denounce what they considered illegal. Respect of people’s rights is one of the fundamentals of American society.
If local laws indicate that short term rentals are not allowed, neighbors will notify police when they see new faces and new cars. Many of the vacation rental neighborhoods are the ones who initiated and pushed those regulations; therefore, they are actively participating in the enforcement process.
Homeowners renting out their properties will be fined and/or taken to court. Code enforcement officers and the police will gain access to properties that are illegally rented as short rentals and will evict its guests.
This process is painful for the homeowners but even worse for vacationers that are just looking to enjoy nice and relaxing holidays. Properties rented to high profile individuals by
Miami celebrities will be evicted as well. Vacation renters should only rent in areas that are offered by approved short term rental operators.
